Developer Embark Studios has announced that the upcoming extraction shooter Arc Raiders is getting a free “server slam” test this weekend on all platforms.
The test runs October 17-19 and during that period, anyone can play the game across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The developer has conducted multiple closed tests before, but this one is open to everyone and represents the “last big push” before Arc Raiders launches on October 30.
“This is a full-scale server slam so we can hit the ground running at launch! We’re opening it up to everyone 16 years old and up to help us stress test our systems, and experience a taste of the Arc Raiders experience!” the developer said.
During the test, players will get to try the Dam Battlegrounds map, which is a sprawling environment with “flooded lowlands and forgotten structures” to explore. Players can try the game solo or in a squad.
The map will get certain modifiers throughout the test, including electromagnetic storms. The test will also introduce players to The Traders of Speranza==NPCs who function as quest-givers and merchants.
Progress that players make in the server slam will not carry forward to the full launch. However, players can earn the Server Slammer backpack for taking part in the test and connecting an Embark ID.

Embark Studios was founded by a team of industry veterans, including former longtime EA and Battlefield executive Patrick Soderlund. Arc Raiders, a $40 game, is coming to market just after EA’s Battlefield 6 launched on October 10 and had a huge debut.
Arc Raiders is set in the future and has players going underground to take shelter from “Arc” robots. Players venture out into the land above ground to collect resources and fight. Take a look at the trailer above to get a closer look at Arc Raiders.
