Animal Crossing-inspired cosy game Pokémon Pokopia has been confirmed to launch in 2026.
Pokémon Pokopia was first revealed during a Nintendo Switch Direct in September and now The Pokémon Company has announced the cosy game will be available exclusively on the Switch 2 from March 5.
“In the game, you’ll play as a Ditto transformed into a human and work together with Pokémon friends to create your very own Pokémon paradise,” reads an official description. “There’s so much to do, including collecting berries, rocks and wood, building furniture, growing vegetables in fields you’ve tilled, creating homes for Pokémon you meet and more.”
There will be a range of building and crafting mechanics to learn from visiting Pokémon, and a number of different biomes to curate. Bulbasaur will let you grow plants, while learning from Squirtle will allow you to water them. You’ll also be able to reshape the terrain with fighting Pokémon such as Hitmonchan.
A new trailer will also be shared later this week (November 13) and pre-orders are available now.
However some fans aren’t impressed that the £58.99 title is being released as a ‘Game Key-Card’, which is basically a digital activation key rather than a full, physical release. It also can’t be resold. “This is the worst part of both physical and digital media,” wrote one fan. “ It just blows to spend 70$ on an empty game card,” added another.
