Alter Bridge have announced details of a new festival, which will be coming to Cardiff next summer. Find out more below.
The brand new rock festival is set to land in Wales for its inaugural edition in summer 2026, taking place in the grounds of Cardiff Castle as part of TK Maxx presents Depot Live events.
Held for one day only, the Blackbird Festival, will take place on Saturday June 27. It was created by the Florida-formed four piece, comprised of singer Myles Kennedy, guitarist Mark Tremonti (guitar/vocals), bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips.
The launch marks a milestone moment for Alter Bridge, not only does it come as a celebration of their legacy, it also sees them curate their own live experience by bringing a handpicked selection of artists to perform at the event.
Joining them on the bill will be Welsh rock heroes Skindred, who will be bringing their distinctive blend of metal, reggae, and punk to the opening edition, and fellow Welsh powerhouse trio Florence Black. Also on the line-up is Cardinal Black.
“We realised we haven’t played Wales in over seven years,” said Kennedy. “To make up for lost time, we thought it would be cool to do something extra special. So with that said, we are stoked to announce The Blackbird Festival. Not only does this commemorate 20-plus years of being a band, but it’s also a way to show our appreciation for the fans in Wales who’ve patiently waited for our return.”
