The Uncut Gems actor launched the ‘You’re My Best Friend Tour’ in Florida over the weekend, triggering ‘90s nostalgia with a series of special guests, including long-time collaborator and Grown Ups co-star Kevin James and rapper Vanilla Ice.

At recent dates in Miami, Jacksonville and Tampa, Sandler treated the crowds to a performance of the 1990 hit ‘Ice Ice Baby’, strumming the iconic opening riff before bringing Vanilla Ice onto the stage.

“Everybody is officially a teenager right now,” he can be seen saying in clips on social media. “We’re back in the ’90s right now.”

Comedian Kevin James then walked out, flanked by a man dressed as Michelangelo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, in a nod to Vanilla Ice’s cameo in the 1991 film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze.

It follows a series of high-profile cameos in Sandler’s latest film, Happy Gilmore 2, with the likes of Cam’ron, Kid Cudi, Post Malone and Eminem all appearing. You can find our full run down of the blockbuster cameos in the film here, and check out the full soundtrack here.

Happy Gilmore 2 scored a three-star-review from NME, with James Mottram writing: “The names just keep coming, including Margaret Qualley (as a casual golfer) and Haley Joel Osment (as a pro, who has undertaken some radical surgery to improve his swing). But really this is all about Sandler, back in the saddle in a classic role. With one montage set to The Cult’s 1985 banger ‘She Sells Sanctuary’, it all feels very nostalgic for eras gone by.

“Golf, beers, Sandler and Eminem? No doubt, your dad’s gonna love it.”
